Come join us for our 4th Free The Music Immersion, this time located at The Hawk and Hawthorne in Barnardsville, NC on March 31 – June 3. This will be a deep dive Community Music Experience for aspiring musicians of all levels! We invite you to join us on this journey musical connection, inspiration, and education. We have an amazing team of facilitators ready to support and guide you in areas like vocal technique, songwriting, freestyling, instrumentalism, music production, live looping, jamming and collaboration, music business, sound healing, musical ecology, music as permaculture, vocal alchemy and embodiment, harmony, music theory, and so much more!
 
We will be providing and including farm to table food for you to enjoy. Beverages and refreshments will also be provided as needed. Feel free to let us know of any dietary requests so we can accommodate. Camping is included. The land is spacious and truly special, rolling hills with epic mountain views. Bathrooms and showers are available for use. There’s also a freshwater swimming spring with a staton to fill up spring water to drink as well. Most of our activities and workshops will be taking place outside in nature, in the covered barn venue, and around the fire in the evenings. we will have a full schedule of musical activities, workshops, and experiences for you to enjoy and choose from. The schedule will be announced soon, stay tuned!
 
On Sunday evening, we will curate a performance/showcase for the local community to enjoy. You are welcome to invite friends and family to share in the magic!

Katrina Lilly

Katrina Lilly

Founder
Katrina (Katt) Lilly has been a full-time music maker for the last 8 years, and part-time musician for several years before that. In addition to being a singer/songwriter, performer, and recording artist, she is also a vocal coach/teacher and specialize in teaching vocal acivation, confidence building, songwriting, and the art of singing harmony. Her vocal style and ability is often compared to the stylings/sound of Erykah Badu and even Adele. She weaves inspirational, authentic lyrics and soulful sounds to create transformational music journeys that evoke emotion in the crowd. She can play keyboard/piano, ukulele, guitar, drum, and occasionally other instruments as needed to support her big, soulful voice. Her style is fluid and flexible, can be performative or interactive depending on who she is signing for and what is needed.
Mateo Maclean

Mateo Maclean

Producer
Mateo is a talented singer/songwriter born and raised in Southern Africa. Finding his true passion for music at a young age, after high school he went on to study Sound Engineering and Performing Arts in Cape Town, South Africa. Over the course of 5 enriching years, Mateo absorbed the intricacies of music business, delved into the foundations of Music Theory, Majored in Vocals and Keyboard, and received his Diploma in Mixing, Mastering and Production. Since then he has learned over 5 instruments, and is successfully teaching his students everything they need to know in order to get a graceful start in their musical journeys. He is a music producer that really gets into the world of the artists he is working with. He provides constructive feedback and collaborates on refining the music ensuring it remains true to the artist's core while benefiting from his expert touch.

Music channels Joel as an instrument to bring through the sound or songs which are relevant for the moment, to serve the needs of the beings who are present. He is curator of the world music and educational ensemble Roots Grown Deep which has performed in 15 countries and sustains Musical Ecology movements on the African and North American continents.

Along with intentional motherhood, children’s nature classes,  permaculture work, foraging, herbalism & ceremony,  Brielle Águila focuses her energy on channeling medicine music for the transmutation of pain into Strength and Inspiration for herself and the collective. The animal, plant, and fungi allies, along with the elements are her greatest teachers that she receives wisdom from. All of the pure aspects of Pachamama - all of our relations, inspire the teachings she aims to spread. The teachings of the sacredness of death and rebirth, the sacredness of the cycle and circle of life and of honoring all of life with respect are present in her prayers and walk of life. Her songs are a prayer to restore and reweave the web of life , to help us return to a life of reciprocity, humbleness and inner wholeness. She hopes with all of her heart, that her music from her heart, helps guide you hOme to yours- and helps you feel protected and safe and empowered in your healing process, as the peaceful rainbow warriors of Mother Earth you all are. She holds a Bachelors in Sustainability and the Environment with a certification in Agroecology and Permaculture  Design and will be teaching an Intro to Permaculture Class and guiding a plant tour and planting ceremony with food forest plants from her nursery in South Florida. Claraty is a sonic liberator, who creates portals for sovereign beings to move, alchemize and live the creative lives they came here to live. The daughter of two classical musicians, she has been immersed in the field of sound since birth and is now an acoustic multi-instrumentalist and electronic music producer.
Rob Lenfestey

Rob has been composing/producing music since he was 5 years old; and is a celebrated pianist, percussionist and multi-instrumentalist and composer; with music featured in documentaries, video channels and more. Rob has performed on stage since childhood, and toured professionally as a musician from the tender age of 20 years old. Rob has played on stage with a wide and colorful range of musical legends such as George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic, Ween, Burning Spear, The Wailers, Nick Petricca (Walk the Moon) members of Papadosio, Elephant Revival, Rising Appalchia, Tubby Love, Amber Lily, Paul Izak, Equanimous, Attya, and many more.

The Hawk and Hawthorne is a Beautiful and well-known Event, Wedding, and Concert Venue as well as functional permaculture homestead and community located in Barnardsville, NC – about 30 minutes from Downtown Asheville. The land is spacious, with open fields and rolling hills, mountain views, a fresh water swimming spring, flat camping spaces, permaculture gardens, a barn venue, commercial kitchen space,  multiple campfires, stages, ample parking, and bathrooms/showers for guest use. The land has many musicians, artists, filmmakers and creatives  for concerts, events, retreats, sacred gatherings, and music videos. It is a special place with really beautiful energy that’s ready to host us and support our community music retreat!
